Hennessy VSOP, or Hennessy Very Superior Old Pale, is a well-balanced and complex cognac created in 1817 by James Hennessy for King George IV of England. It is a blend of around 150 different eaux-de-vie from the Cognac region of France, aged in French oak barrels to develop its characteristic smooth, complex taste with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, clove, and apricot, balanced by a long finish and a subtle grape character.
